we was told that we had a really nice idea that was different to our peers with an excellent match on action particularly through the opening of the door, continuity worked really well.
The opening begins with two students having a discussion. we were informed that the diegetic sound of the dialogue was quite difficult to hear and understand so this is something we must bear in mind before our practical production to overcome this we will record the conversation after the actual filming of the conversation has been done and will then edit it all together. our attempt of the 180 degree rule was used here via the shot reverse shot however the angling from Sean to me could have been closer to Sean’s perspective during the mid-shot of me to make it match better. we were told that we our pan of jacks feet was Really smooth . This movement & shot added tension to the extract however this could have been longer to further build this up. mam said she Particularly liked the close up of Jack opening the door it added variety of shots to the sequence showing that the we have thought through how the extract could look visually more interesting. we used A nice low angle shot of Jack to add to his dominance. Occasional shaking of the camera of Sean’s reaction shot however a smooth pan to show myself. The pan worked better than if it were a cut therefore it added to the humour and creativity of the piece. Although ms feelings said she would suggest the positioning of the tripod to be further back due to the framing of me being closer to the camera and therefore has a different perspective however the rule of thirds have been considered via the looking room spacing. A nice POV high angle shot looking down on us with nice framing of the room adding to the isolation of the students and thus portraying my character’s fear. Last shot of Jack is slightly out of focus therefore we could have considered a reshoot for this shot if we had more time available to us.
